Chassidic Tools

At Lev Yisrael we believe it is worthwhile to use tools of Chassidus in helping Ba'alei Tshuva to become properly integrated.

Chassidic thought teaches us the practical tools necessary for full integration into Yiddishkeit

Chassidic thought since the time of the Ba'al Shem Tov has made it a focus to outline the behavior patterns of mankind that in essence just parallel the realities that exist in the spiritual realms. The writings of Chassidic leaders include not only  the outline and pattern of the spiritual realities that are paralleled in the human psyche (both conscious and subconscious), but also the practical tools of how to alter these patterns.  By proper use of this knowledge and these tools, obtained through study of Chassidic writings and experiencing its lifestyle, a person can become proficient in realigning his previously conditioned behavior patterns and directing his energies to find their expression in the context of a Torah lifestyle.  Only once a person has redirected his full self to Torah can he truly be considered properly integrated.

Unfortunately, these tools of Chassidus have not been readily accessible to English-speaking Ba'alei Tshuva, the people who may very well need them the most.  Many have been forced to turn to non-Jewish sources to compensate for this lack, a lack that can be readily filled through Torah sources.

Experience has proven that for Ba'alei Tshuva these tools are crucial

At Lev Yisrael, we see it as our responsibility to provide English-speaking Ba'alei Tshuva the access to these tools. The exposure that students receive is through both study and experience. The results of this approach over the last four years have proven to us that Ba'alei Tshuva who use the tools of Chassidus, to rechannel the energies and enthusiasm of their past experiences  and integrate that drive into their present frum lifestyle, are significantly more successful in being able to integrate fully than those who do not.

Lev Yisrael thanks Hashem for the opportunity to grant Ba'alei Tshuva access to these tools -- tools that give them the insights into human nature which enable them to rechannel subconscious emotions into the Torah ideal and to actualize their whole selves.
